About this game
A typing speed test measures two things at once: how many words you can type in a set amount of time, and how accurately you type them. Speed is expressed in words per minute (WPM), calculated from the number of correct characters you type divided by five — the average word length — and normalized to a full minute. Accuracy is simply the share of characters you typed correctly out of everything you typed, including any mistakes you had to type over.
This test scrolls a stream of common English words a few lines at a time so you always know what's coming next. Type each word and press space to lock it in — correct letters turn green, mistakes turn red, and finished words fade so you can focus on what's ahead.
